Yashveer Malik, a 17-year-old wrestler from Chandigarh, won the gold medal by defeating Nishant 6-2 in the boys' 65 kg Greco-Roman category at the Khelo India Youth Games at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex on Monday.
2022 was a good year for Yashveer Malik as he won gold medals each at the Under-15 National Wrestling Championships and the Sub-Junior National Championships and another gold medal at the ongoing Kholo India Youth Games (KIYG).In May this year, he was selected in the Indian Wrestling Team to represent the country in the Wrestling Championships to be held in Bishkek [Kyrgyzstan] from 19 to 26 June.
