Today is Ashadi Ekadashi. On this occasion, like every year, the Maha Puja of Vithuraya was performed in Pandharpur this year. Newly elected Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde and his wife Lata performed Vitthal-Rakhumai Puja. Along with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Murli Baban Navle and his wife Jijabai Murli Navle of Rui village in Gevrai taluka of Beed district have been honored with the official Mahapuja of Vithuraya.Wari tradition has been going on since 1987 in Navle family which has been taking care of their family by farming for last 20 years. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was present with his entire family. His father Sambhaji, Eknath Shinde's wife Lata, son Shrikant and grandson were also present for the puja.
