Due to mild intensity, 98% of the seats in Mumbai are vacant. As of June 14, 33 of the 4,751 beds with oxygen facilities were occupied. Similarly, there were only 53 patients out of 1,523 beds in the ICU.
“The omicron wave of transition has been milder than all the previous waves of Covid-19.

Since the infection is confined to the upper respiratory tract and can be effectively treated, the spread of the infection is likely to be short-lived and mild, ”said Dr. Rahul Tambe, Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Nanavati Hospital.

The overall average growth rate of infection in Mumbai was 0.149 per cent. In 12 of the 24 wards in Mumbai, the growth rate is higher than the city average. The M-East ward, which covers the area around Chembur, topped the chart with a growth of 0.231 per cent.
