Indian Army Rescues Child From Borewell in Gujarat

Surendranagar (Gujarat): A two-year-old boy fell into a deep borewell in a field in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district, after which a team of Army, fire brigade, police and health officials rushed to the spot and rescued him, officials said. Wednesday.
The incident took place around 8 pm on Tuesday while Shivam was playing in a field in Dudapur village.

It fell into a borewell and got stuck 20-25 feet deep, Dhrangadhra administration official MP Patel told reporters.

As soon as the district administration officials came to know about this, they informed the local disaster management cell as well as the National Disaster Response Force in Ahmedabad at a distance of about 100 km from here.

The local administration also enlisted the help of the Army, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the police.

Army, police, district administration personnel and villagers rushed to the spot. They worked in coordination and at 10.45pm the boy was pulled out of the borewell, the official said.

The boy was later shifted to the District Civil Hospital for further treatment, he said.
