Mumbai: While the work of Mumbai-Nagpur Samrudhi Highway is stalled, now this highway is becoming life threatening even before Lokaparna. Work on some phases of the highway has been completed and illegal passenger traffic continues on this route. Due to lack of traffic control, two accidents have taken place in the last four days in which two persons have been killed.
Illegal traffic on the roads created and under construction due to these accidents is a matter of concern for the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Against this backdrop, MSRDC has now decided to take stern action against Samrudhi for direct offenses against illegal drivers.
